Has anyone out there applied the cumulative update 4 for SQL Server 2k5 sp2?
If so have you seen performance improvements concerning CPU and memeory utilization (mostly by SSAS).
Any negative impact or gotchas?
Thanks!

Recentley installed cumulative update 5 (build 3215) from 4 (build 3200). I haven't experienced any problems w/ SSAS on either build (x86). In fact most of the updates introduced into cumulative update 3 (build 3186) addressed alot of SSAS and MDX performance issues.

Thanks!
What was your backout plan?

NP - full backups of all the system, user databases. Uninstall the rollup via Add/Remove programs under the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 installation, select the Show Updates check box.

strangest thing. I got the link today from microsoft and when I download / extract it (CU 4) all I get is the sql native client installer (sqlncli.msi). Shouldn't there be more or did they send me the wrong link?
