Cube Replication (Duplication) using same data source & Enabling Detail Level Member in the Duplicate OLAP

    Hi Guys,

    I have 2 reporting systems, one which is our OLAP based source systems and one where we collaborate with other departments reporting data using BO

    Now let’s take one dimension in my cube say Department, the OLAP cube was built to display department names only, but now my requirement for the new reporting collaboration has changed and I need to display properties along with names without disturbing the original reporting structure (Don’t want properties to show up in my source system)

    So correct me if I'm wrong:

    Can this be done?

    1. Original Cube (Names) and Replicated Cube (Names and Enable Property details) pointing to the same relational data source (Data should be the same across both cubes). If yes how can I replicate or do a deduplication (Steps or Guide please)

    Have you considered having one cube and just using role based security on dimensions?

    It did cross my mind.I'll give this a try.But I would still like to explore the option highlighted.

    Any more ideas .
