Cross Server Join

    Any recommendation for how to build an SSRS 2008 dataset that joins tables from 2 different SQL Servers?

    Essentially using the Linked Server concept w/in SSRS dataset. I'm not sure how to do this.

    I believe the only way to do it is with the LOOKUP expression, so you will need to create two data sets in your report then use a lookup expression to do the joining of the data sets.

    Never done it myself, always do things like that at the procedure layer.

    What's wrong with using the linked server in your query?

    Unless I'm misunderstanding?
