Creation of database diagrams automatically

    Hi!

    I want to create a database diagram without manually putting the relationships.can I create database diagram automatically in SSMS or with visio 2003?

    In Visio, there is an option to reverse engineer a database. It works pretty well. I've never been a fan of the built-in database diagrams.

    I tried to create database diagram with visio 2003 with reverse engineering option.I could create a model.But it displays all tables in the database without relationships between them.how should i do it?please help me.

    Srikanth,

    Visio determines the relationships based on the primary/foreign key relationships that are in the database. Does the database that you are reverse engineering have those relationships? If so, make sure that you select the primary are foreign key objects when navigating through the reverse engineering wizard. Here's a link that might help you through it.
