Creating New Data Source in Analysis Server

    Hi,

    I am new to 2008. I have set up a database in Analysis Services. I would like to create a new Data Source. However, when I right-click on the 'Data Sources' node in the onject explorer, the only options I see are: "Reports" and "Refresh". There is no option to "Create New Data Source".

    Is it not fully installed?

    Any help is appreciated!

    I guress there is no problem in installation. You can't create any objects in Analysis Services DB directly. However you can execute XMLA scripts to create SSAS Objects.

    To answer your question, I would recommend you to create new Data Source (or any other change)using Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) and process the cube again. I think you are aware of how to import SSAS DB using BIDS.
