One of the selling points that I've heard about AS2005 is the ability to create a cube based off of multiple fact tables as opposed to creating multiple cubes with a virtual cube sitting on top. Has anyone done this yet and if so can you describe the procedure for doing so? I have 2 fact tables sharing 5 or 6 dimensions but I'm not sure how to create a single cube from this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

All you need to do is to create a Measure Group for each of the fact tables in you cube. You can do it by using Cube Designer. Go to the Cube Structure view. Right click on the cube node and choose New Measure Group, select your fact table and then define measures. Repeat the process for each of the fact tables you need in the cube. When finished go to Dimension Usage view tab. Here you will see a matrix of measure groups and dimensions involved in the cube, and you can define how they are related to each other. The most obvious relationships are automatically detected, but you might need to do some extra work here depending on the nature of you fact tables and dimensions.
Have a look at the Adventure Works sample to give you a better idea of what you can do.
