Also please can you suggest a good book on SSIS? or best method to learn SSIS?
There's a good beginner's book called "Hands-On Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integration Services" by McGraw Hill / Osborn (publishers). It's very basic.
The learning curve on SSIS is very steep to begin with, but once you've banged out about 5-6 packages, you'll find the rest is rather intuitive. I advise just creating packages left and right, using Books Online (it's free), the forums, and looking for Blogs that tell you how build packages (or articles here on SSC).
Pragmatic Works also does free webinars on Tuesdays & Thursdays which sometimes addresses the basics (but more often, it's intermediate / advanced stuff).

It has been a long time since I tried to do this, but I think the script task is the best way to do this.
