This line needs an edit:
If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the Federal Reserve will be open for business as usual on the Friday before. But if a holiday falls on Sunday, they will be closed on the following Monday.

Thank you for your feedback. Even though I proof read several times, I still may miss something.
I am looking at the line now, and I must not see the problem you're seeing. How do you suggest I edit this line?

You actually had it right.... The banks lose a holiday when it falls on a Saturday...
Here is the quote from the web site:
http://www.federalreserve.gov/aboutthefed/k8.htm
"For holidays falling on Saturday, Federal Reserve Banks and Branches will be open the preceding Friday; however, the Board of Governors will be closed. For holidays falling on Sunday, all Federal Reserve offices will be closed the following Monday."
Thanks for getting me to double check.

I'm glad someone found it useful.
Were you looking for this script because yesterday was a bank holiday, and something went wrong? 😉

Thanks for the script.

Excellent script. Has a bug, though. Should be "2 and 7", not "2 and 6".
Very useful, thanks a bunch!

Thank you for your feedback. I think this is correct as written. I have checked through several of the holidays that are generated by the script, and they appear to be correct. If you can point out a specific date you believe is wrong based on the original script, please comment here. I'd like to study that example to improve the script.
The goal of this script is to identify days when the Federal Reserve Bank is closed due to a holiday. Those can only be weekdays. That means Mon-Fri, or days 2-6. Saturday (day 7) cannot be a Federal Reserve Holiday. As noted in the original description, when a holiday like Christmas falls on Saturday, the Federal Reserve Bank is open for business as usual on the day before (Fri). When a holiday falls on Sunday, then they will be closed on Monday.

Ah, I see. I was a little myopic then in that I was looking for a script that would generate the actual holiday dates, to be used as an exclusionary indicator for when a job should not run. Wouldn't matter for some, matters for us. Specifically, any Saturday holiday was "missing".
Thanks for the clarification! The script saved me at least a half day.
