  couldn't make a .net mySQL datasource

  Provider = .Net Providers\MYSQL Data Provider (MySQL.Data.MySqlClient)

  created the Data Source but every time i test connection, it results in :

  First time =  TITLE: Connection Manager

  Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

  All other tries in the same session results in = TITLE: Connection Manager

  Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Packets larger than max_allowed_packet are not allowed.

  On the Solaris/MySQL database The value for maw_allowed_packet is already increased from 1 to 32 megabytes.

  But this doesn't solve anything

  try, if this helps...

  make a GLOBAL/SYSTEM DSN on the server and then use the same process as u are doing above.
