Corrupt Master Database?

  • Hello,

I hope someone can help me. I logged on this morning to my SQL 2005 machine, all but 2 of the logins have gone and none of the user databases are accessible. I cant see the logs either as it says I do not have permissions.

Could this be a corrupt master database?

    Kind Regards,

    D.

  • if you can log in to SQL Server, master is not corrupt; could it be the logins were deleted?

If you open Object Explorer in SSMS, and expand the Security>>Logins folder, are all the logins there?

  • Hey thanks for getting back. I actually decided to try logging on as the local admin and everything came back as normal. I guess I will try dis-joining it from the domain and back on, unless anybody as any other suggestions.

Sounds like the first account you used does not have high level permissions, not a problem with SQL.

  • Hello,

Well, the first account I logged on as was my own and the domain admin, both of which have (or at least had) domain and sysadmin privs. So I am not quite sure what has happened.

    Regards,
