I am setting up database mirroring for the first time and I have to copy the logins from the principle to the mirror in case of a failover. I have found the tranfer login script ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918992/ ) but I'm not sure if this will remove the logins from my principle server. I would like to have the logins exist on both servers simultaneously.

That'll just copy them. Take a scan through this forum. Someone just posted yesterday with pretty much the same question. You may want to check out the comments there.

That KB shows you how to script out the logins and move them over, with passwords intact.
As Pam mentioned, this won't do anything to them on the principal.
