Copy database wizard error SS2000 to SS2005

I tried the copy database wizard to copy one DB from SS2000 to my laptop that has SS2005. I get this error:
While trying to find a folder on SQL an OLE DB error was encountered with error code 0x80004005 (Client unable to establish connection).

google tells me that 80004005 is usually associated with a lack of permissions, but in my case I am using a domain login who is a member of sysadmin group on both source and destination servers. Any ideas?

Is the domain login member of any other group which has no permission, please check...:)

Do you mean is the login a member of a group that is denied permissions anywhere? No, the login is a member of the local administrators group on both source and destination servers.

Did you check the permission of the local administrator group and the account individually? I am still having a doubt that the user is a member of some group which has no permission.
