Hi ,
I am trying to copy a app database from sql 2000 to 2008 for testing purposes. But the package created by copy database wizard is failing.
Can anyone help?

thats the least reliable method of trying to copy a database. Any reason why you cannot use backup\restore?

The new server that I am doing migration on has to be tested.
So the app owner wants the database to be copied and not restored. So I do not have a choice.
Thanks

I'm not sure I understand. What difference does it make to the app owner how you get the database to the new server?

I am given specific steps to follow. I do not know why he wants that to happen.

I'm guessing neither does the app owner. 🙂

Seems if he was that specific, he'd know how to fix the problem you're having. 😉
Are you allowed to detach/copy mfd/attach?

What did the business owner say? did that person contact the vendor and try to resolve? I will let you know if I have any progress.
