Hi,
I´m hoping somebody can help with this. I need to convert a set of dates (in string format) to the datetime data type.
The data is currently stored as strtings in the following format:

Monday, January 28, 2008
Thanks in advance

Try this:
declare @testdate varchar(50), @realdate datetime
set @testdate = 'Monday, January 28, 2008'
set @realdate = SUBSTRING(@testdate, CharIndex(', ', @testdate)+2, 50)
select @testdate, @realdate

Hi Wayne,
Cheers for that. Much appreciated. It´s saved me a couple of hours work (I´m new to T-SQL).

I seem to be doing lots of date related stuff at the moment, luckily nothing involving dates in such a format, however, I'm sure a time will come - this looks very useful!
Thanks!
