Continuoulsy writing the message Login succeeded for user 'ABC\mssqlsrv in Error log

  • Hi,

We have installed SQL Server 2008 x64 and SP1 on Windows Server 2003 x64 and restored the SQL Server 2005 databases and completed the upgrade process.

In the error log every five mins, I'm seeing the below message:

2010-09-13 04:31:11.19 Logon Login succeeded for user 'ABC\mssqlsrv'. Connection made using Windows authentication. [CLIENT: <local machine>]

Is this normal in SQL Server 2008? Can we say the SQL Server NOT to write these messages in the Error log?

    Please advice me

    Thanks

  • In the security properties of the server (right click\properties) change the auditing level to 'failed logins only'
