We want to add a failover sever to our existing SQL 2005 Enterprise setup using database mirroring or log shipping. The database that we will be using is currently also used as a publisher and a subscriber for standard transactional replication, the distributor is another server entirely. My issue is having a seamless transition over to the failover server and have database continue as a publisher and subscriber and back again. Which method would be best and how would this be achieved.
Thanks

In Replication Monitor find out Agent Profile for snapshot and Log reader Agent and in
-PublisherFailoverPartner type in mirror server name

Thanks for your input, I am aware of this setting but wouldn't it only apply for the database being a publisher and not continue the replication as also being a subscriber?

Not sure about local subscriber, try it, we have a mirror server in another US state, and after fail over to mirror replication worked fine.
