Contained Databases

  • I got confused with the wording too, but I too am happy to see some 2012 questions pop up.

Good question - but what's up with the word "other" in the question?

It guided me to exclude Contained for an answer :hehe:

I looked up for documentation and one answer was obvious but for other there were used fully contained, uncontained and non-contained. I didn't get the second option until looking into :w00t: Create Database.

edit: Anyway - it is poorly worded or at least misguiding question :doze:

  • Agree with those who say the question is a bit confusing.

If you have containment set to NONE, then it's not a contained database, surely ? Especially since all new databases are not contained by default.

Or are all databases in SQL 2012 to be considered as "contained", with the tie-breaker being the type of containment on each ? 🙂

    ID10T error.

I started with one question, and then changed, rewording the answers and explanation to fit. Forgot to remove "other".

  • Got partial, but got the other option wrong. Learnt something.

  • Guessed on the SQL 2012 question and got it right. Thanks for submitting.
