Connectivity problem

    Hi All,

    I am configuring replication from 1 server to secondary server.

    Problem :- i am able to connect 2nd server through IP but i want to connect

    through Instance name.

    When i connecting Instance through giving error (Error 40 & error 53)

    Server name is correct, Share Memory, Named Pipe & TCP/IP are ENABLE.

    Let me know where i doing mistake...

    if everything is correct, try instance name with port number.

    How many instance of sql server on that server?

    I tried through port, it's not working....

    I have only single instance (Default)...

    ERROR :-

    Cannot connect to MPBABTPJSDB01

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:-

    An error has occured while estalishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure be caused by the fact that under the default setting SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (Provider : named Pipes provider, error : 40-could not open a connection to SQL server)(MS SQL Server, error :53)

    if you really getting error then you would be getting "additional information" with your error. Paste it here.

    Also the way you connecting. Is it sql authentication or windows authentication?

    Is the SQL Browser service started in the 2nd server?

    Problem is Servers are not registered in DNS...
