  I am getting issues while connecting to my SQL Server 2008 server with Java connectivity. Though I am trying to connect from Linux environment. When I do telnet from Windows, it works but not from Linux. What can I do now ? Are there some configurations need to be done ?

  You can telnet from your SQL Server to Linux on port 1433 and not the other way round? Then it could be that the firewall is not configured properly.

  Well, I sorted out the issue. It was required a fully qualified name and thereafter, BANG. It worked.
