My team's web app (written in Cold Fusion, running on NT 4 with SQL Server 2K) just started kicking off the following error:
ODBC Error Code = 01000 (General warning)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionRead (recv()).
There is no more information to go on. It is intermittent, as some users get it and others don't.
Any suggestions on how to track down what is causing this? Read some postings from other sites but they didn't give much in the way of answers.

Check the ODBC Connectivity to the SQL Server from the desktop you are connecting to

We were experiencing a very similar problem not so long ago, it was very intermittent but would generate hundreds to thousands of errors in a very short space of time. Since one of the NIC controllers has been replaced on the server the problem appears to have cleared up. We're certainly not seeing the same quantity of errors, possibly just a couple a week now. Just another possible avenue for you to consider.
