I have suddenly encountered an SSAS error on a cube that has processed without a problem for over a year. When I try to run a full process everything works fine until it goes to commit, then I get the error:
Analysis Server Error: Connection to the server is lost; Time:9/19/2007 7:46:55 AM
Error(-2147221411): Process operation failed; Time:9/19/2007 7:46:55 AM
Error(-2147221423): Could not open server object (Internal (Database 'DM_CC' could not be opened on the server)); Time:9/19/2007 7:46:55 AM
When I check the event log I find the errors:
"The MSSQLServerOLAPService service terminated unexpectedly" and "There was a fatal error during transaction commit in the database DM_CC. Server will be restarted to preserve the data consistency"
I don't know what service pack I'm on, the version of SSAS is 8.00.2039.
SSAS is really new territory for me so I need all of the help I can get. TIA

Now I've really screwed things up. I tried to restore the database and received an error, "File already exists". Now the database is gone and I can't get it back, I always get the same message.
How do I restore the database?
