I am running Localhost on windows 7, with sqlexpress 2005, i keep getting Server does not exist or access denied error with this connection string:
Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=.\MyMACHINE\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=mydbase;Integrated Security=SSPI;
when I switch datasource to (local) , same thing
running with Windows auth

You should be using
Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=MyMACHINE\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=mydbase;Integrated Security=SSPI;
