Connection Failurre on Database

  • We have SQL SERVER 2000,that some times we receive the following error messages. This happens randomly (when we try to execute some SQL Statement from Application):

Warning: Error: 0x80004005. Recycling database connection on thread 5828 and retrying...

Warning: Error: 0x80004005. Recycling database connection on thread 5276 and retrying...

Warning: Error: 0x80004005. Recycling database connection on thread 5828 and retrying...

Warning: Error: 0x80004005. Recycling database connection on thread 5744 and retrying...

Warning: Error: 0x80004005. Recycling database connection on thread 4288 and retrying...

Warning: Error: 0x80004005. Recycling database connection on thread 4288 and retrying...

I tried to run the SQL profiler, but I could not find any Time-out error or lock in database. Also,I tried to google this error message ,but I didn't succeed.

I would appreciate if someone help me regarding t his issue.

  • Have you checked that the application is closing it's connections when the work is done?

  • no,I don't,for each thread ,it is creating a new connection, and cause of that there are 100-200 connection exists. Can this number of connection cause the problem.

  • Do you have 100-200 concurrent connections - that is all open and processing queries at the same time from the same client?
