It seems that you cannot conntect to SQL Server 2k8 to browse db objects or run query thry earlier version of SSMS like SQL 2005 or 2000. I was however able to connect to SQL Server 2K8 db engine thru SQL Server 2005 version 9.0.3282 but not the earlier version. Is there is any restriction on wht version you need to have in order to connect o SQL Server 2K8 db engine thru earlier version of SSMS.
Thanks

There shouldn't be restrictions, but there could be some things that don't work. My Query Analyzer connects, but because it makes some calls that aren't supported, the Object Browser doesn't work.

Any idea where can I find complete information or whitepaper on this.
I need to instruct my users here as not everybody has SQL 2k8 yet.
thanks
