Hello guys,
I had previously installed SQL Server 2008 on my local machine but did not include Reporting Services with it...But today, I was wanting to try it out and see how good it works, so I ran the install again just to add Reporting Services to my instance...Everything ran fine...
So I went to Object Explorer in SSMS and tried connecting to Reporting Services and entered my instance in and clicked Connect and it said that Reporting Services could not be found in this instance...
So I went thru the install again and when the screen come up to add features, Reporting Services was already installed on it...
What am I doing wrong to connect to it?

Have you walked through the SSRS Configuration Wizard yet to ensure everything is configured correctly?
Start --> Programs --> Microsoft SQL Server 2008 --> Configuration Tools --> Reporting Services Configuration

Can you get to the Report Manager and Report Server interfaces?
Use localhost only if you are on the server, otherwise use the machinename or ip address.

No it says Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage...
Its crazy b/c when I go thru the configuration, it connects to it fine...but when I try connecting in SSMS, I type for my server name: <my computer name> and click Connect and it says Invalid namespace...I then try <my computer name\my instance> and click Connect and it says Report Services Instance could not be found...So I go back to the configuration service and use the Instance ID: MSRS10.<my computer name> and click Connect and it says the RPC server is unavailable...
I dont know what Im doing wrong!

I get the invalid namespace error when I do not include or mistype the instance name. Did you install under the default instance or a name instance? To verify you can go into SQL Server Configuration Manager and look at the name in parenthesis next to SQL Server 2008.
While you are in there make sure the Reporting Service is actually running. It seems obvious, but I've missed that several if it was turned off by accident or during patching.
