Install supported Windows VM on your MAC OS and then start connecting...

Probably JDBC is the way to go, as Mac OS X is a Unix variant under the hood. Apple is picky about packaging JDKs with the OS though. For query tools, try something like SQuirrel SQL http://www.squirrelsql.org/ or gasp! Oracle's SQL Developer http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/overview/index.html.
