Hi,
Iam planning to install new sql server 2005 instance. For this
1.Iam logging into the Server as abc\admin->administrator account
2.adc\admin is a memeber of Administrator group in Mycomputer->management->groups.
3.While installing sql server instance, in the service account page
User name: abcservice
Password:xxxxxxxxx
Domain: ABC
Installtion is done.
Here my questions are
1.Do we need to use abc\admin account in service account page?
2.I used abcservice, in that case is this account has to be added as member of Administrator group?
Please clarify me?
thanks

You don't need to use your administrator account for service account. In SQL Server 2005; when you set the service account for SQL Server Service it does not become a local administrator. It gets added to a local group that has limited permissions to your computer to let SQL Server operate normally.
Thanks.
