Confirm an install is using a MSDN license

  • I'm pretty sure the answer is going to be no, but does anyone know of a way to confirm that a given install is using an MSDN license?

As far as I know, there is not a way to do it. Usually you will be using your MSDN license for development and test Servers. As long as you are not running production data on that Server you can use your MSDN license.

  • Thanks. That's pretty much what I thought. Now I just need to convince my boss.

  • Microsoft Licensing is a different subject. If I'm not wrong the Servers you are using with MSDN can be only be accessed by people with MSDN licenses. My advice would be to contact you Microsoft Sales representatives for that. I'm sure they will be more than happy to provide you with the info.
