Configuring Database mail in a CLUSTERED environment

    Has anyone SUCCESSFULLY been able to config\enable database mail for their clustered sql server environment? if so, do you have the steps you used?

    The only issue I had that didn't seem to be well documented in the setup steps was adding the login account used for sql services to the DatabaseMailUserRole in msdb.

    In my previous job, we have a monitoring server ( we were prohibited of using mapi in prod). So I made linked server between clustered server and monitoring server, so all mails were going thru monitoring server. Of course you have to make sur that your monitoring server is up and running...

    actually it applied to SQL Server 2000 and not SS2005 (database mail-like in your case)
