Configure Replication between SQL SQL SERVER 2008(Publisher) & SQL SERVER 2000(Distributer,subscriber )

  • Hi Guys,

We have plan to upgrade one of our servers and install SQL SERVER 2008,and also we have plan to confugure a Transactional replication. The Server (SQL SERVER 2008) is the publisher and the distributer and Subscriber are SQL SERVER 2000.Is is possible to configues Transaction replication between SQL SERVER 2008(Publisher) & SQL SERVER 2000(Subscriber & Distributer).

    Thanks

  • According to BOL the distributor will need to be on the 2008 server.

A Distributor can be any version as long as it is greater than or equal to the Publisher version (in many cases the Distributor is the same instance as the Publisher).
