configure mirroring

  • we have two server & i am going to configure mirroring can u pls tell me how to make principal as a witness in mirroring

  • There are many tutorials online. Please research.

  • can i make principal as a witness...I dont know ...pls give me link where i found..i am in trouble..pls help

  • You can, and there are plenty of tutorials and how-to articles online. Google should turn up piles.

That said, should you be doing that? Do you understand what that will mean for failover? Are you happy with the resultant failover behaviours?

Also, why are you configuring mirroring with SQL 2014, when it's been deprecated for two versions and may well be removed in a couple of versions?

  • i am configuring in sql server 2008

and my frnd pls dont give me such type of solution

  • In future please post in the correct forum section. Posting a 2008 question in the 2014 forum means you'll get answers relevant for SQL 2014

The very first hit from google for 'Configure database mirroring' is the MSDN entry which walks you through the set up step-by-step.

Part way down there's a piece on adding a witness. It's the same whether the witness is the publisher, the mirror or some other SQL instance

I'm not here to do your job for you. At least read the documentation before you post on the forums. We're happy to help people stuck with specific issues, less so with questions that could have been answered with a quick google search.
