I am not able to send email from inside a contained availability group. I created a profile inside the contained availability group to use, but any email fails to send. msdb.dbo.Sysmail_sentitems is empty, msdb.dbo.sysmail_faileditems does not have the mailitem_id sent, and msdb.dbo.sysmail_mailitems has the mailitem_id with sent_status=0 and a null sent_date from inside the contained msdb.
Using General database mail troubleshooting steps hasnt helped me. From what I can tell everything is enabled and the sql user has rights (sysadmin inside the contained ag).
Email does work at the individual node level using a profile defined at the instance. I assume I have some kind of scope or permission issue between the instance and the contained ag since the contained database mail profile does not seem able to relay the message.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
