Configuration web url for SQL reporting service

  • I can't complete web service URL configuration. And that's why I can't configure Report Manager URL. Please Help.

  • I hate to ask, but have you pressed the apply button like it asks you to do? There's no errors on these images to tell us anything about why it might not be working.

  • Yes I did. It says the url is reserved. But I managed to reconnect to my old url address after selecting some reserved urls.

Still I am curious to know ,that means that I cannot change URL name?

  • What were you trying to change it to? Do you have another instance of Reporting Services running on the same machine?

  • I want to change it to http://locathost/ReportServers instead of http://MYNAME/ReportServer(which appears as it in web browser currently)

In Report Manager URL Tab, it appears clickable link as http://MYNAME:80/Reports_2012

I don't have other Reporting Service running at the same time.

    Thanks.

Localhost is a reserved name, of course you can't have that, just as much as your wouldn't be allowed to set your IP on a domain to 127.0.0.1. That would mean computers on the domain would have to *theoretically* go to "http://localhost/rReports" to access the SSRS web interface. And of course, that isn't going to work.

  • Thanks for the information Thom A. I really have no idea about that.
