Compatilibilty amongst English and Japanese versions of SQL Server

    Hi,

    One of our Development Servers has been installed using a Japanese SQL Server media on a Japanese OS.
    For the Production Server, the OS is in English. 
    The same media of SQL Server fails to install on it. So, I will be using a English SQL Server media for the installation.

    Do you know of any incompatibility issues which may arise between these?
    Do backups and restores work fine among these different language versions of SQL Server?
    Any other things which may break?

    As far as I know, there isn't any difference in how the SQL Server binaries and data files are organized between localized versions. There seem to be ways to get SQL on non-localized OSes : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144258(v=sql.105).aspx
