Hi Everyone,
Im not sure whether I should post this here but thought would get some information.
We are developing a new ASP.NET E-commerce website from classic ASP System.Classic System runs on Commerce server 2000. In moving forward we are considering two options.
Option 1: considering customizable business layer and database development
Option 2: Upgrade Commerce Server and just do ASP.NET website project.
As we are developoing for our retail company there are various other system that plugins in. This will be usual inventory, purchase etc; I also understand that if we are choosing option 2 then we need to buy licenses for both SQL and commerce to give some quick solution.
Can some one point me on right direction?

The reason to use Commerce server in Asp days is Shopping cart is one of the most complex code to write in http because it is very hard to track your users activities in session. But in Asp.net there are many free alternatives if you are a developer. Here are some samples that you could explore before you buy the current commerce server.
