Well exactly. The primary motivation for Adam writing WIA was the awfulness that is Activity Monitor.

Don't mistreat it that way: it was almost usable in SQL 2005. Something went wrong thereafter.

Almost usable, perhaps, at a stretch. 2008 was a big step back from there, certainly.

I find it slower than am in 2005 and scrolling down the drop down list to select a user for instance can be troublesome with the refresh time. I could change the refresh interval but haven't.

K - I see you on all three. I thought both 2005 and 2008 were bad but thought that 2008 had gotten a bit better - though not adequate still performance wise.
Design could have been far better.

Performance is my major concern.
Also, usability (is this a real word?). Has lots of things you don't need and misses the basics.
