Code deployment scripts. whats your ideal method?

Im deploying some small scale code updates to a database build. Generally releases are done on a massive scale, and there are vb script batch files created to do the deployment.
I dont write them, however for my limited release i want some form of deployment script.
What do you guys use and why?

I am sure everyone has a diif method but we release ours to svn folder where we group everything by project, then if you have some fixes between large release we will label them 1., 1.2 and so.

Here we will hold the release script as well as the rollback script.
