Clustering SQL Server 2008 on VMWare

    Is it possible to install multiple named instances on a single node in a VMWare cluster, with the other node sitting there to take over should they fail? I thought I had read somewhere that installing multiple instances on a single vm node in a cluster configuration was not possible.

    You can install multiple named instances on a single virtual server, yes. You can cluster virtual servers. Yes, you can install multiple failover cluster instances on virtual servers.
