  • AFAIK, no. since this requires a lot of hardware to get this working. If you don't have virtualization, then you can set up an Azure or AWS account with 2 VMs and practice there.

If you have a machine with 8GB, you can use Virtual Box (free) And create two machines to practice with there.

We have resources to learn with here: https://www.sqlservercentral.com/stairways/stairway-to-alwayson

  • Hi

Sorry folks for late reply here . I got busy in something else

So since online options are not avaliable .I am thinking to practice  it op personal desktop/laptop using VM box .

can anybody suggest what should be Ideal ram size for it ...

Would 8 Gb be enough or should i have 12/16 Gb of ram

And what should be processor i3 would do i hope

  • i3/8GB will work, but things may run slow. A lot of resources to run 2-3 machines to do so. Virtual Box is free, as is HyperV. I'd try for 12-16 GB, and SSD drives, but you can do it slowly with less. I think you can easily get a SQL Server VM to run in 2GB, maybe 1.5GB of RAM.
