Clustering 2005.

    what is difference between a/a & a/p Clustering ?

  • Active nodes have at least one sql instance currently running on it.

    Passive nodes do not have any sql instances running on it, but are ready to have another node's instances transferred to it.

    A given sql instance can only be running on one node at a time. So, a/a means that there are at least two sql instances, and then they are currently running on different nodes.

    If you can't explain to another person how the code that you're copying from the internet works, then DON'T USE IT on a production system! After all, you will be the one supporting it!
