Brian,
Not to labour the point too much but if the intention of the question was to elicit an answer to 'why can't Enterprise Manager see the local drives' then I reckon the answer was phrased wrong
SQL Server CAN see local drives in a cluster
EM CANNOT see local drives in a cluster
Far away is close at hand in the images of elsewhere.
Anon.

It's good to see that also native english speaker have problems with these questions. For me, understanding the question is the first hurdle, second is translating the meaning and intention, third is when phrases like 'at least', 'most likely', 'least likely' and the like are used. This always leaves a huge uncertainty.
However, I like taking the questions, even if I fail!
Cheers,
Frank

In this thread MSFT is saying that add a new device to have a backup on that drive
and here http://www.developmentnow.com/g/99_2003_9_0_0_386917/SQL-Cluster-cannot-see-all-local-drives.htm , http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/SQL-Server/microsoft.public.sqlserver.clustering/2006-08/msg00129.html Geoff Hiten is saying that add them to the resources to be visible
