Hello, I have inherited the Network management of a Windows 2000 cluster. The cluster is configured in an Active / Active role and it has SQL 2000 sp3 on it.
The cluster is in a data center that I currently do not have access to.
I was investigating the machine via query analyzer to determine the amount of RAM installed. The query returned 1,570,380 KB to my way of thinking that is 1.5gb. I seem to remember the network person, who has quit, said there is 8gb of ram but I sure can’t find it. I have looked in control panel in the system. I have looked at the properties of the My computer Icon and all I see is 1.5gb.
What do I need to do to determine the amount of actual ram that is installed in this machine? Since the cluster is made up of two identical machines the results from the other machine is the same.
I guess I am having a brain fart because I am at a loss unless the network Admin was not telling me the truth.
Thanks for answering something I should already know.

If you're referring to the physical memory: Computer management ->right click ->Properties-> General tab

I already tried that and it return 1.5 gb.
I am open to any ideas.

If the Computer Mgt console lists 1.5GB then your system is only recognizing 1.5GB.
In order to truly find out exactly how much memory is in the system, you are going to either have to run a utility by the OEM of the server that lists the physical properties of the system (DSET for Dell), use a diagnostic tool like Everst: http://www.lavalys.com/products/eapm.php?pid=3&ps=UE&lang=en, or open the case and look at the amount of sticks and determine it that way.
