Cleaning out the Closet

  • I recently logged in and decided to remove my subscription to a post.  In doing that I realised that I had many subscriptions to posts that no longer interest me; nor anyone else for that matter as I haven't heard from them in years (literally).  So I cleaned out the closet.

Anyone else got subscriptions/accounts in items (SQL or non SQL) that used to be fascinating, interesting or just curiosity invoking and now, quite frankly, you couldn't give a 'flying fig'?

  • Man, you started me down the rabbit hole with this post!
I went back and looked at all the topics I started and went through a few of them...

Now to go through the stuff I "briefcased" to see what might be worth keeping there...

  • I should do some housecleaning myself.  It is almost Spring, after all!

  • I agree but there are some threads that have died.

I was talking about the 'oh that's mildly curious' sort of threads.  Some are like Tennyson's Brook and go on for ever and are now so far away from where they started.  Sometimes you have to move on

There are some threads that burn hot for weeks, like the ones related to gender discrimination in IT or debates about DevOps. They start off interesting with some good points on all sides, but then I'll have to unsubscribe from notifications after only a few days, just to keep by Inbox from getting cluttered.
