Hi everyone
is it necessary to pass 70-431 exam before giving 70-445?

The short answer is no the two are not related because exam 70-431 gives MCTS for DBA and Dev while exam 70-445 gives you MCTS for BI.
I have been using SQL Server for years with an MCDBA that needs upgrading so I had to take both. If you just do BI you just need exam 70-445.

No I don't have dump but I have covered how I passed it in the thread below. You must know SSRS is not more than 20 percent of the exam so you need to know SSRS, SSIS and SSAS doing Dimension modeling and prediction modeling. Good Luck.

I'll be blunt, as usual.
Dumps are cheating. Get your hands on one of the training kits for the exam and work your way through it. People cheating their way through the exams without knowing the material is what devalues the certifications.
Lastly if you're caught cheating, all your certifications will be revoked, permanently.

Not to offend you, but
Preparing Dumps along with the book is Smart Work and not cheating.
If Microsoft cared about its valuation, then they would have surprised the candidates by asking questions different from the dumps. But they dont. Because they want only those people to be certified who are smart. And even if one passes the exam genuinely, noone is going to believe the fact so the question of devaluing the exam certificate is ridiculous.
Secondly, I have not heared of a single case where Microsoft has revoked a single certificate of any candidate, just because he read the dumps along with the book. They can Not. It is people's pity that they fail to get the dumps and have to read the whole book, struggle in order to get one certificate. And when they pass through this, they cant stand others doing the same thing easily, its human nature.
Gaining knowledge is one thing, which can be done anytime. Passing the exam is another. I am continuously gaining knowledge, now its time to gain the certificates.
Your Help will be truly appreciated.

So, if you obtained the question and answer sheets for an upcoming college/university exam and used those to prep for the exam, would that be cheating, or smart work?

Dear, here the usual practice we follow is prior to exam we take reference of previous years questions(with solutions) which are asked so we get better visualization to get the better approach of how to prepare and get the perfect idea of how to deal and make it Success!
If this is termed as cheating , then we all are offenders here!
thanks

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm asking if getting your hands on the answer sheet for the upcoming exam that contains the questions that you know will be asked in that exam is 'smart work'
If you want something like the previous year's papers for university, then consider using MeasureUp's exam simulations.

2 FYIs.
First, this site does not encourage, nor ever will, using dumps to pass exams. Even the site moderator will tell you so. If you want dumps, please post in someone else's site with your request, not here. Especially as the questions/answers in dumps A) Violate the NDA and B) most often have wrong answers to begin with. I personally know people who have failed exams because they used dumps.
Secondly, the BI certification requires 2 exams to pass (for the full MCITP) 70-445 & 70-446. Though, I believe you can get a MCTS on just 70-445.

The term dump (brain dump) means a set of questions from the actual exams that people have posted on sites (in violation of the exam NDA) with the answers that they think are correct.
If you mean something else, then clarify exactly what you mean. If you use the term 'dump', the above definition is what people are going to assume you mean.

There are several places you can get good question / answers. Some of them you have to pay for.
Transcender is a good practice test with flash cards, but is the most pricey of them. However, it is legit and helps immensely with preparation. Microsoft has trial Q&A bits on its certification site also.
I tend to buy study books by several different publishers during my study attempts. Most of the study guides include CDs with practice tests and usually different publishers do different questions & different formats, which is incredibly helpful.

I have covered the supprises in the thread I gave to you, Transaction in SSIS because Microsoft owns most of the base math I know it is implemented in six different places in Microsoft software development platform including SSIS and I talked for a long time during the MVP conference with one of the SSIS product owners he explained in detail the reasons for the implementation. It is a simpler exam than 446 which was very hard and convoluted.
