So, one of the problems you are having is that you don't see some third party components you have install in your toolbox, correct?

if i don't see third party tools , i know that might be due version problem...since those tools has been made for 2008 r2 but i am using 2012 server...so it may not support it...but my problem is, i does see data flow and control flow tab when i click Tools--->Choose Toolbox items....we used to select third party tools from there in Vs 2008 correct? why not in vs 2010? i hope i am not wrong...if i am , please correct me, Lynn..
Thanks,

None standard 3rd party tools have to be manually added to the tool box after installation from the options menu in SSDT if you are using 2012 or BIDS if 2005/2008/R2 in order to see them in control or data flow toolboxes.

Charmer, are you saying that your toolbox is completely empty, or just missing 3rd party tools?
If the former, I'm not sure how to help unless you can right-click the toolbox and select Reset Toolbox. I've never had to do that so not sure how much of a reset you really get.
If the latter, right-click toolbox and select Choose Items. That dialog should allow you to load 3rd party and custom tools.
But, I also am on 2005, so can't help on how that is different from vs2010.

I have Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate at home. I'll try to remember to check it out tonight.

My installation of VS2010 Ultimate does not have the capability of creating or modifying SSIS packages, so I can't help here.

Looks like it should be automatic.
What I am guessing is this
Installed SQL 2008 with BIDS etc etc
Then installed the 3rd party tools
Then installed SQL 2012?
If so the DLL's wont be in the SSDT environment
This link shows more http://fendy-huang.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/how-to-add-ssis-custom-component-to.html. But looks like you might have to reinstall /copy the 3rd party components into the right areas
