Hi Friends,
I have been assigned to a new project where data load s gonna happen from oracle to cassandra through SSIS and then to render the report by SSRS from Cassandra (spark). That is the architecture plan.
I have been asked to prepare the check list items for SSIS and SSRS. I have never worked on cassandra before so I have no idea about what would be the difficulties to load data into cassandra and then query data using reporting services. I have not yet been provided dedicated machine to test myself.
so some one please help me identify the things needed to connect cassandra and what difficulties would it be to render report using SSRS?
We are going to use SQL server 2012 version.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Charmer

So if I understand this correctly, you have your OLTP data in Oracle, then you are going to use SSIS as a pump for extracting that data to Cassandra where you are going do the analysis using Spark and then present and visualise the reports in SSRS, is this correct?

Just a thought, do you have an option of using SQL Server 2016 and PolyBase? Just forming an idea, not thought this fully through though.

I don't think they gonna use SQL 2016. So I'm not sure, Eirik. But please let me know about your idea. I will take it up to my architect team. I would explain them if it is better to have SQL 2016 and polybase. Rest is up to them.
Thanks,
Charmer
