hi,
i wasn't sure if this was the best forum to post this question... if not i apologize...
i'm working in enterprise manager... i can access the database no problems, however when i open a stored procedure and click on the "check syntax" button i get a message saying "login failed for user 'sa'". i've never seen this behavior before. i tried reentering the password in the registration properties and it takes it. i can also login via query analyzer using sa. if i try to alter a stored proc in query analyzer, i get the same error.
has anyone else experienced this before? please let me know how to fix it...
thanks.

Is the procedure you're view accessing another data source at all? I believe if you have a procedure with, say, a passthrough query in it then it will verify that query on the other data source too whilst parsing.
It could be the other data source that is throwing back the error.

thanks, you were right, that fixed it. i have linked server that was being accessed... as soon as i set the password there the error went away.
thanks again.
