hi all
if i have a simple bar chart in srs 2005, is it possible to design the report so that i can click on one bar and it will open a second table report with the information filtered by the selection in the chart?
if anyone has any good tutorial on this, and even general subreports in ssrs 2005 can you please help me by linking them?
anything i find online seems more directed towards 2008 - either that or i dont understand them
cheers

you would want to take a look at the action tab on the chart properties
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964128%28v=sql.90%29.aspx
Around half way down is this sub heading "7. Add a drill-through action on the sales data value" so you get the right box
Then link it to a secondary report which takes in a parameter of which is the value of the bar which you click on, so needs to be the detail from the chart data source for it to drill through properly.

yeah it can be a bit tricky SSRS in some places. luckily I had the joy of the 3 day SSRS admin course along with working along side a ex MS Trainer in a previous role who specialised in all things SQL so I picked a lot up from them.
Also I would recommend these two books if you want to go deeper into SSRS
Happy I could point you in the right direction

Hi there, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place but for the life of me I can't find that reference.
Can you help?
