The Gurus,
I mistakenly specified a wrong domain while installing SQL Server 2005 standard edition. Is there a way that I could change the domain from within the SQL Server? I do not have permission to access the domain that I wrongly specified and when I was trying to attached an AdventureWorks sample database, I got the message that I was writing to a wrong location.
Please, help.
Many thanks.
Regards,
Ola.

right click my computer and select properties. Change the domain and reboot. its only the servername that SQL server uses. Domain membership will just affect the accounts who can connect

Thanks but the workstation to which it was installed on on the same domain which I entered wrongly.
Basically, the SQL Server is intended for testing only but the workstation on which it was installed is a member of arts.local, which is the domain that I wrongly specified. Doing what you told me could affect the PC itself because it still need to be on the domain.
Any other idea?
Thanks.
