Changing NAME and IP ADDRESS of machine where SQL Server is hosted.

  • Jobs are OK.. Not many as such, the basic ones which I can even add manually.

I am still confused on the error logged there. How to get rid of it. ?

Services are running under Local System account only...

  • Hi..

I followed the link below, not sure if it will make any diff.

Auth is KERBEROS from remote SSMS and NTLM from local SSMS.

    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-us/9498d421-a795-4776-bd6a-8d13ca2952c6/connecting-to-sql-servers-with-ssms-in-windows-7-x64?forum=sqldatabaseengine

And still the error gets logged in the errlor log continously. I am yet to reboot the machine.

Will the issue be resolved after I reboot the machine ?

    Thanks,

    Smith.

  • Reboot din't make any difference. Still the error is logged continously. Any suggestions ?

  • All the services are runnind under "local system account" and we are still getting this error in our error log. Can someone please guide on this ? Thanks.

  • check the sql srever error log during the instance startup, can you obfuscate it and post details here.

  • Thanks Perry.

I ran profiler and got the host name. It was coming from a test server which was removed from domain.

I stopped a sharepoint service which was running and the the issue got resolved.

    Thank you all again.

  • no problem, thanks for posting back
